Pineapple Tarts Sale

PINEAPPLE TARTS SALE IS NOW ON!

For homemade pineapple paste (Ingredients: pineapple, sugar, lime juice, cinnamon, cloves):

$15 for 30 tarts.

For non homemade pineapple paste (Redman brand):
$13 for 30 tarts.

Porridge buffet at The Rajah Inn

Lunch with simin and candice today was at Tiong Bahru Plaza, initially it was rather boring thinking of going back to the all so familiar mall. But to my suprise, there was something new that I haven't tried!

Porridge buffet at Rajah Inn on level 2 was relaxing and nice. It starts at 11.30 to 2.30pm, with over 20 dishes to choose from. The porridge has sweet potato in it and is cooked just the way I like it, watery and soft.

Round 1 - The peanuts, eggs and fried fish is worth a try. All our favourite dishes.

Credits go to Simin for discovering it. I would definitely go back again, because of the convenience and not too crowded atmosphere. The price is a bit expensive though, $6.90 for anyone taller than 1.2m and with the addition of GST, it becomes $8.10 per person.

By the way, my camera is all broken inside, like an emo kid, so for the time being, picture quality will be like that. I pray it survives the major operation. Everyone, GRIEVE.

Little India

This is my third visit to Komala Vilas in Little India. It was recommended by a teacher and my repeated visits has proven its worth.

It is supposedly the best Vegetarian Restaurant over there. They don't sell vegetables like what we know, but rather they create wonderful food out of flour.

These are must-trys over there.

Onion Uttapum - their version of a pizza. Soft and filling and filled with onions. Delicious.

Battura - It's so big because of air inside. Rather like a balloon. Very interesting and delectable. I love its chickpea curry.

Dhosai - There is paper dhosai, which is the plain one, crispy and long. (Depending on your luck, you get different sizes. My second visit there with candice, we had a metre long one.) There is also Masala Dhosai, which not only has Masala taste (some kind of indian spice) but also Onion Chutney inside (I think that's what it's called.) Basically it's mashed potato with stuff. Not bad.

Dare to try new stuff, it's fun and exciting!

Directions: Just take the train to little India and exit from exit E. Turn to your left and left again. You can't miss the bright yellow signboard.

Countdown

Countdown to 2009!

This year was spent with my primary school friends, and as we step into the new year together, I wish them all the best for their O'levels, HMT, MT, and all the others. That's my new year wish!

This outing can win the most impromptu award. It all started with me asking Olivia if she was free for lunch, which led to Jack and Perry joining us as usual. So off we headed to Little India, to face Perry's worst fears. Ha, poor guy. (refer to above post on little india - indian food is the new IN thing.)

Then we decided to ask people out for countdown which led to crashing Teresa's home and a sleepover at Jack's place. I think we always have awesome plans.

They like swings, it reminds them of the OLD days.

If not for them two holding down the swing, Jeremy would've been in grave danger. He has grown so much bigger you see.

I actually asked her to give me a sexy pose. Perhaps she heard scary. But I like.

Perry provided our only snack of the night - Ovaltine biscuits all the way from Europe.



While waiting, we played a very intellectual version of Murderer. There was squeezing, winking, a healer, a murderer, many detectives and 2 cards each. You name it, we have it. And only Mingjie can teach you, it's too complicated for us simple minds.

Cheers to the new year with Ceres, our favourite brand of fruit juice. And yes, there was an offer.

Sentosa Picnic

The long talked about yearly sentosa outing happened on 29/12/08, before the new year. Phew, we made it!

Because we were so blinded by the sun, we missed out that there was a shady tree just 1.236 metres away from us. So we plonked down on the burning sand and got ready to toast our bread. All the time pretending that the weather was not hot at all, freezing in fact.

Then emelyn couldn't take it anymore and opened an unbrella which led to the discovery of the shady spot we named: Under the tree.



The cheese really melted. Just ask cheryl.



We played Captain's ball with rotten bananas. Which turned into muah chee. And attracted more friends, namely flies.

There was a sandcastle building competition after the horrendous chase after the rotting banana.

I think kaichi and I did a good job, even though we lost badly to the egyptian tomb.

We call it "The King Of FAR". Theme: Fat And Round. King because our handwritings were just too big for Kingdom. I bet you guys are jealous of our artistic abilities. Too bad.

But I think we still look more natural flying.
