Of dreams and hopes

We don't need to be the best - just different will do.

I cannot live a life with a dream unfulfilled.

Neither can I.

You'll be my inspiration :)

Valentine's Day - Red Velvet Cake

Valentine's Day 2012

Unknowingly, I had a small bakesale! It all started with the Latin Dancers project as above for my senior. So came the idea of a red velvet heart shaped cake with silhouettes.

This is for Weibin and Yuting :)

And a cake canvas for Ching Kai to Kat... Tough work for him, but definitely worth it. Heehee. ><

Valentine's Day is only lonely if you let it be. Celebrate love, not lovers. For all those single, take heart and let the music play!

Mango Mousse Cake

This cake gave me loads of problems! I should've known better, the fatigue was so strong... And I wasn't meant to do this cake. The distraction was too strong. In any case though, I did manage to save it but unfortunately, in my zest, it MELTED.

It was so horrifying, like a black mark in my history. But now I know. Should've let the gelatin set first. Keep it refrigerated. Then sell it. In this order, because otherwise I will let someone down. That's terrible, it's called losing faith. Once faith is lost, a customer is lost. :(

Shall not show the melted cake picture. It breaks my heart. Though I know I shouldn't be such a perfectionist. Here's a promise I'll make to myself: this year, I'm going to be emotionally stronger.

Checkered Fruit Cake

Finally, I did checkered again! This time it was easier than the last, probably cause I've done it quite a few times before. The first cake went to my aunt for her birthday and the second to Mingyew for his very belated birthday. No matter what, a promise is still a promise and so even with the fatigue still hanging around, I managed to pull through!

I did a little experiment this time round and froze the sponge cake to preserve it for a few days. Amazingly, when I took it out and defrosted it, the cake became even more moist and tasted as awesome as it should. Now, I can spread out the time required to bake and maybe, just maybe, there'll be less late nights...

It was nice seeing everyone again, after the hectic few weeks and with the upcoming even more crazy school term, I wonder when we'll have fun together once more. But I'm sure that where there's cake, there's gonna be this bunch of crazy people. :)
